STEC has one of the regions most technologically advanced communication centers. MedCom is responsible for coordinating and dispatching all emergency and non-emergency patient transports and monitoring area hospital diversions.
MedCom 9-1-1 Dispatch
Medical dispatchers coordinate all emergency responses and make certain that Emergency Medical Services personnel are dispatched in a timely manner. The medical dispatchers also provide critical pre-arrival medical instructions to 911 callers. The dispatchers also coordinate non-emergency medical responses to meet the needs of patients.
STEC has one of the regions most technologically advanced communication centers. At the heart of MedCom is a state-of-the-art call processing system made up of computer aided dispatch software, ANI/ALI identifiers, GIS mapping/Automatic Vehicle Location, Pro-AQ pre-arrival instructional software, Pictometry aerial imagery, and the 800 MHz SmartZone trunking radio system. These systems are used seamlessly to provide the 911-dispatcher the best resources to respond in the quickest manner.
