About STEC

South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, Inc. in South Texas, Paramedic and EMS Service

South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, Inc., is a community owned, not-for-profit organization that qualifies for exemption as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. STEC is governed by a board of directors who are selected from the communities who are members of the organization.

The Foundation is accredited by the “Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems”. Accreditation is important for our patients and our communities as it shows that the Foundation maintains the highest level of patient care and safety. There are a limited number of accredited programs in the US and Canada.

The Foundation provides ground ambulance (emergency and non-emergency) service to most of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Fixed wing services are provided nation-wide.

Community Service Programs-Tours of EMS

The Foundation provides public education programs for schools, civic groups and other organizations. Programs and tours of the EMS facilities and MedCom Communications Center are available. If you would like to schedule a program for your school or organization or for a presentation and tour of the EMS Facilities and the MedCom Communications Center, contact the Foundation at (956) 364-2711.
